ISIVF Congress 2027

Dear Colleagues,
It is with great pride and genuine enthusiasm that we invite you to Rome for the 23rd World Congress on In Vitro Fertilization, organised under the auspices of the International Society of In Vitro Fertilization (ISIVF) — a society founded in 1980 by Sir Robert G. Edwards, and recognised and supported in its activities by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Rome’s bid to host the congress, together with SIRU and CECOS Italia as the host and organizing societies, was approved by the ISIVF General Assembly at the 2023 World Congress in Marrakech.
The theme we have chosen for this edition — The Evolving Landscape of Reproductive Medicine: Global Perspectives — is more than a title. It is a statement of intent.
Our field is changing faster than ever, and the landscape of reproductive medicine is being reshaped on multiple fronts at once: artificial intelligence is entering our embryology labs; genomics is redefining how we understand implantation and early embryonic development; fertility preservation is expanding reproductive possibilities for oncology patients and beyond; and a global conversation on equitable access to care — urgent and finally open — is underway.
Alongside this scientific progress, there is a growing commitment to prevention, education, and the protection of reproductive health rights, within a vision that places the individual at the centre, extending beyond the traditional focus on the couple and embracing a more human-centred approach to reproductive treatment.
Over three intensive days, our scientific program will challenge us with the most pressing questions shaping our evolving landscape.
Clinicians, gynecologists, embryologists, reproductive endocrinologists, geneticists, andrologists, biologists, psychologists, nutritionist-healthy lifestyle experts and basic scientists will come together — because the breakthroughs we need cross disciplinary boundaries, and the global perspectives our theme calls for are only possible when the global community works as one.
This is the spirit that will inspire the 23rd World Congress, taking place in Rome from 6–8 May 2027.
Rome is no random choice. Few cities carry within them such a deep understanding of the long arc of human civilization, standing at the crossroads of history and innovation.
Rome in May is extraordinary. Come for the science. Come for the global perspective. Stay for the city. Leave with fresh ideas, valuable connections, and renewed energy for the work that unites us all: advancing reproductive health, supporting informed reproductive choices, and helping people build the families they long for.
We look forward to welcoming you!
With esteem and collegial regards,
